I was using nftables to do general firewall-related things, when I realised that the changes aren't persistent, and that, as well as putting the rules in a specific file, nftables.service must be enabled using systemctl. So I did this, and rebooted. Everything was fine: boot was normal, GUI login manager was normal, but as soon as I type in my (correct) password and hit enter, to start the DE, it just shows a completely blank screen with the TTY text cursor blinking away in the top-left, as if I had used Ctrl+Alt+F7 while logged in on GUI. TTY was completely fine; only the logged-in DE had this issue. Even stranger, disabling nftables.service gets everything seemingly back to normal! It would be nice if I could have persistent firewall rules AND a working DE!
All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
