Troubleshooting • Cannot browse web despite seemingly normal firewall

Hi, everyone!

I started using iptables to control firewall seetings on my Pi 5 (Bookworm), and I wanted all incoming connections to be dropped/rejected, so that there was absolutely no way for others to gain access from over the network, but all outgoing connections to be accepted, so that I could still do things like connect to ssh and browse the Web. However, I can't access the Web, even after explicitly accepting outgoing connections to 443 and 80 (on top of all outgoing being automatically accepted by default). When I accept all incoming, it works fine. I tried accepting incoming and outgoing connections to every port under the sun (a.k.a. under `sudo netstat -tulnp`), including every avahi-related port, but no connections were successfully made from the browser. Is there some issue or bug, or am I just completely missing something?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
