So i had a custom image with bookworm and some custom scripts. Usually i could clone this image with win32imager, put this sd card into a brand new raspberry pi 5, and it would run.
Recently on one of these images i did a sudo apt update + upgrade which i think updated it to the newest version (Trixie, right?).
Now when I put one of these sd cards into a brand new raspberry pi, nothing happens. It will kinda start up and then not do anything or turn off and just have a red light immediately.
If i then flash the sd card bootloader and then pop that same custom sd card in, it works fine!
I just did a workshop and had to do this with 15 brand new raspberry pis.
My only thoughts are
1) are raspberry pis shipping without a bootloader now?
2) is there something special about the upgrade to Trixie that makes it not work on first boot? Something special i need to do now that i didn't have to do with my bookworm image?
