Keyboard computers (400, 500, 500+) • Raspberry Pi 500+ keyboard layout keeps switching from FR to US despite correct settings

Hello,
I purchased a Raspberry Pi 500+ for my daughter last December with a keyboard in the FR (French) version.
I configured the OS to be in French language with the keyboard layout also set to FR.

My issue is that the login screen is systematically in US. Once logged into Raspbian, my keyboard is in FR, but from time to time, it switches back to US. I change it back to FR from the settings screen, but after a few moments, it goes back to US.

I tried installing an Ubuntu OS on an SD card, the login screen is also in US despite the configuration I applied, and once logged in, I'm in FR but same thing, it also changes to US from time to time.

Note that in the keyboard settings screens, it is correct and does indeed display FR...

I already have several Raspberry Pis at home (2B+, 4, 5) and I've never encountered these issues.
If you have any ideas, I'm all ears. Personally, I know QWERTY keyboards quite well, but for my 9-year-old daughter, it's a bit more complicated
