Automation, sensing and robotics • One Pi, multiple lights?

Hi,

I am trying to make an incubator of sorts. It’s essentially a series of 12-16 boxes which exposes a series of terrariums to a bunch of different day/night cycles.

Each box needs to have its own light, and those lights need to operate independently of one another. They need to turn on, and turn off, at different times. I’d also like the option to dim. For simplicity, I’d like to run everything through one pi.

I’d like to do this without soldering anything, if possible.

My mind immediately goes to the Adafruit strips, but I don’t have enough experience to know whether they can be controlled in this manner.

I have two questions:

1.) Can the Adafruit LED strips dim on command?
2.) Is this possible to run off one pi?

I welcome any additional comments!

Thanks in advance for your time and expertise!
