Hello Everyone!
I have a very lightly used Raspberry Pi 5 from the first few production batches that stopped working seemingly out of the blue.
At some point it was working great then it was powered off for a few months and when I tried using it again recently it refused to boot.
When initially powered on, the status LED just turns solid red and remains like that.
After some research I tried resting the EEPROM using the Raspberry Pi Imager.
However, when the SD Card with the EEPROM reset image is inserted, the status led flashes green four quick times and then shuts off for a few seconds and then it flashes in green four times. This repeats over and over again no matter for how long I leave it on.
When I tried powering it down after that and using an SD Card with Raspberry Pi OS, the led just goes back to being solid red again.
I'm using the official power adapter but I also tried using other adapters and even tried powering the device from the 5V pin directly.
I also tried booting Raspberry Pi OS and reseting the EEPROM using a usb driver as well. Nothing I tried made a difference. Using a brand new SD Card also didn't help. Furthermore, the board doesn't look like it has any physical damage and there's no display output at all.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as this is not a cheap device and having to throw it away after the very little use it's had would be a shame.
Thanks!
