Hi all! New here but have been a software engineer for nearly a decade now but haven’t dipped my toes into the Raspberry Pi/Arduino side of things yet. With my kids turning 6 this summer and being obsessed with Nerf battles, I figured we could use some of the extra things from our house projects and grab some electronics from Microcenter (or online) to set up a Nerf target practice course in our house. From what I’ve read, previous projects have used a Raspberry Pi with Arduinos and piezoelectric sensors to indicate pressure and hit success, that reports it back and gives a confirmation.
What I am setting out to do is fairly simple (at least at first), I just want to have a target with a sensor attached to confirm a hit that runs to an Arduino or Raspberry Pi and then triggers a light for 2-3 seconds to indicate a hit. I didn’t know if anyone had experience doing something like this, or would be able to point me in the right direction as I’ve read in the past the Pi doesn’t have an analogue to hook the piezo sensor straight into it, thus requiring the Arduino.
Thanks!
