I had a pair of old DNS servers, dns1 and dns2. I planned to replace them with a pair of Pi 4's running PiHole, which I named dns3 and dns4 while I set them up.
After setting them up, changing their IPs to replace the old DNS servers, and verifying everything else is working, the two devices are still named dns3 and dns4. I'd like to rename them so they match up with my old setup, but I'm running into a problem with the renaming - no matter what method I use to rename them, when they reboot, they revert back to dns3 & dns4.
I've tried:
raspi-config
nmuti
hostnamectl
nano /etc/hostname
No luck, as soon as is reboots, the name reverts. What am I missing?
