To celebrate Raspberry Pi's first anniversary, RS Components, one of their two main manufacturing distributors, released a limited edition of 1000 blue Raspberry Pi's. These Pi's are very cute: there’s something really handsome about that blue. They come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Eben and a matching blue case from One Nine Design in Wales; and blue, as drinkers of Slush Puppy should be aware, is the canonical colour of raspberry flavouring.
The majority of them were donated to charitable causes involving kids and education. But some were also held back as competition prizes, and thankfully that's where I won it and I would like it to go to a good home and not be collecting dust. It's a true once off collector's item.
The most unique Raspberry Pi is a limited-time flavour: blue raspberry. This blue version is one of 1000 blue Pi's that were made to celebrate Raspberry Pi's first anniversary, 12 years ago. What's crazy is this original Pi (well technically the 2nd revision of the original Pi...)? It's still supported.
