Hi,
I am new here and first of all, I AM A BEGINNER (please dont kill me if I say something incorrect). I am a "techie" guy with a bit of knowledge about some programming language, but very little experience with Raspberry. I have a project that I would like to do, but I am afraid because maybe is too big for me at this moment. I am going to explain briefly what it is the project, and after where I am stuck righ now.
PROJECT: Pressing a combination of buttons in a controller (8Bitdo or Xbox for example), I want first to start a PC if it is not turned on, log in and then open Steam on Big Picture Mode in a monitor/TVs that will depend on the combination of keys pressed. It could be monitor/TVs 1, 2 or 3. Finally, use the controller normally on that monitor/TVs. All 3 monitor/TVs are connected to PC through HDMI and PC are close enough to use 2.4Ghz and I prefer this technology over Bluetooth because the low latency. Also I am planning to turn on TVs and change channels using HDMI CEC protocol, but this can come after.
In my mind and nothing confirm yet, the schema is as follow:
1) Controller send input to an Rapsberry Pico thorugh 2.4Ghz
2) Raspberry Pico recevie that and pass it to Raspberry Pi.
3) If the combination match some pre-defenied combination, it will be processes. If not, input will go directly to PC.
4) Raspberry Pi will turn on PC if not is turned on using WoL, log in a predefined user and launch Steam in a Big Picture Mode in a predefined monitor/TV.
5) Controller can be used as normal with no latency (or very low) in any game
What do you think? Is all this possible or it is better to start with other kind of project? Right now, I am gathering information of how to implement point 1 and 2, but I still haven't found anything very promising. Can you guys please send me some clarification about this project?
Thank you very much!
