Beginners • Brand New Pi5 Will not boot

hi,

brand new user - purchased a Pi5 with microsd card

Downloaded Raspberry P1 Imager 1.8.5 on mac, and installed latest Raspberry Pi OS 64-bit on card (3 times now)

Set hostname, username and password and locale settings

Installation was verified

OS installed and SD card installed in the Pi

Green light next to power switch is flashing green thee times regulary and once quickly.

this is the same if the SD card is in or out.

tried with keyboard and mouse and screen plugged in, tried with them all removed also, but no progress

any help appreciated
