Advanced users • PWM via PIO on the Pi 5

With the Pi 5 and the RP1 chip having PIO, it should be possible to use PIO to generate PWM signals on pins that aren't typically PWM pins without doing it purely through software. However, the documentation is lacking a bit and it is unclear how to do this. Specifically, I would like to using python.

Does anyone have information or experience with or are aware of a way of achieving this? Thanks in advance.
