Networking and servers • DHCP serve fixed address from the Network Manager to MAC address

Hi ,
I have a raspberry Pi Zero 2 running as a hotspot using bookworm.
So you have a general idea of what I'm doing, I am using Seestar_alp running on the PiZ2 and controlling a Seestar S30.
I have set the Pi Z2 in Hotspot mode and I can connect to it from a PC and phone with no problems.

An essential part of the set up is to have the S30 connected as well. This is OK at the moment by putting the S30 in station mode and connecting to the PiZ2 hotspot, the S30 is given an IP address from "somewhere".

I'm guessing the "somewhere" is the NetworkManager. It is not the rest of my network.

I wish to define this IP address from the MAC address or SSID so I can be sure that it will always be assigned that address even in a field where I have no way of changing it.
I search and searched the web and all I seem to get is how to set the RPI Z2 with a fixed address and how to set up a Hotspot . This is already done when configuring the hotspot.

I'm aware that bookworm no longer uses some the "older" DCHP services and I was toying with the idea of adding DNSMasq but I fear I may break what is already working.

What I would like is guide on how to configure the Network Manager to give the same address to the Seester S30 by MAC address or any other device come to that.
I was expecting to find something like:

Code:

[Client Address]IP-address= 11:22:33:44:55:66, 192.168.0.123/24
To add to the NM config file.

I have found the man page for Network manager I can't find what I need. This could be an understanding issue on my part.

So can anyone help me with this. It should be easy but I can't find a method.

TIA
Andy
