Camera board • OpenCV to detect objects?

I've seen a lot of videos of people having the RPI open an image or video file and let openCV identify the objects. I'm looking to do something similar but realtime. The idea is if the RPI sees an object, then take a picture.

Thoughts on this?
Also, is there a coco library for lego bricks? The end goal is a lego sorter.
