Camera board • How to access Optical Black (OB) pixel values outside the active area on IMX585 sensor

Hello,

I would like to access the Optical Black (OB) pixel values, which are located outside the active image area.
I have tried capturing DNG files using the libcamera-still utility, but the OB region is not included — only the active area is saved, so I am unable to retrieve those OB pixels from the DNG data.

Is there any way to read the raw pixel data from outside the active area, such as through driver modifications, configuration changes, or access to ISP statistics?

Any guidance or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I am working with a Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB RAM), running Raspberry Pi OS with Desktop version 12 (Bookworm).
The camera module I am using is based on the Sony IMX585 sensor, and I am using the driver provided by SOHO enterprise.co.
Image and video capture are functioning correctly at 1920×1080 resolution.
I am capturing images using the following command:

Code:

libcamera-still --raw -o test.jpg --mode 1920:1080:12:U
Thank you!
