Hi all,
I’m running Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm 64-bit on a Raspberry Pi 5, in command-line mode (no desktop).
I’ve written a Python script with a menu, and from there I launch MPV in fullscreen to play videos over HDMI. Video playback is smooth and fullscreen works fine.
However, I’m getting frequent audio dropouts — short cuts or interruptions in the sound. This happens randomly during playback.
I’ve tested with both PipeWire and ALSA, but the issue remains. It also happens when launching MPV directly from the command line, outside of my Python script, so it doesn’t seem related to that.
Has anyone experienced similar HDMI audio issues on the Pi 5 with Bookworm? Any ideas how to make MPV’s audio more stable?
Thanks in advance!
