Troubleshooting • Dead Micro SD Card?

Hello all,

Last year I created a automated irrigation system with a Raspberry Pi 4 and some PCB breadboards. Given that it worked pretty well, I wanted to update my system to a proper designed PCB instead of the ugly wire rat nest I had. Essentially, the scripts I developed needed GPIO re-assigned to match the new layout I configured with the PCB I was going to order, thus I wanted to modify my scripts.

It was a while since I have connected to my raspberry Pi so I plugged it in Ethernet and wanted to SSH. The pi device would not show up on my device. I tried to troubleshoot my network and ensured that it wasn't the issue.

Then I decided to load the micro sd into a reader and plug it in my windows desktop where I would use a software to read the sd card and potentially work on the python scripts on my computer. Unfortunately, the sd card reader shows that it is empty and asks me to put the micro sd card in, while it already is... I ensured the reader wasn't faulty by testing my 3d printing micro sd which showed up just fine.

Is my micro sd totally bricked to a point it doesn't even show up? Is it a drive type formatting issue that prevents me from seeing it. I'm quite sad since I spent lots of time making these scripts and making this project work and now I feel like I don't have the motivation to revive it if my scripts are lost.

All in all, I should have backed these scripts up, it's my first project so I suppose it's a harsh lesson.
