I’m having trouble booting my new Raspberry Pi 5.
When I power it on, the green LED blinks 3 times slowly, then 1 time quickly, in a repeating pattern.
I tried to reinstall the bootloader by flashing the recovery image to an SD card. When I insert the card and power it on, the screen turns solid red, and the green LED starts blinking 4 times slowly, then 7 times quickly, repeating.
I’ve tried:
- Using a different SD card
- Buying the official Raspberry Pi 27W USB-C power adapter
- Letting it sit for a while in case the recovery takes time
Still no success.
Also, the USB ports don’t seem to work — no power to connected devices. However, when I try bootloader recovery, the processor gets warm, so I assume it’s doing something.
Do you have any idea what else I can try? Could this be a hardware issue?
