Troubleshooting • Raspberry Pi 4 - HDMI crashes surround receiver

I have a Raspberry Pi 4 connected to a HDMI input on my NAD T758 v3i surround receiver which is then connected to my Samsung S90D tv. The rpi4 is set to 1080@60p. Periodically, within minutes or a few hours at most, the receiver will just turn itself off while I'm working on the rpi4.

The rpi4 is connected all the time and do not cause problems when it is not selected as input (and therefore visible on the tv). In other words, I don't think this is a grounding issue or similar. I suspect some sort of HDMI issue, handshake, CEC or whatever. As with everything HDMI, the rpi4 itself might be doing everything correctly and it might be the receiver not handling things correctly, or even the tv.

I would like some input for debugging.

1) Whenever it happens, are there some logs or similar that I should check right after, that might provide clues?

2) Are there config settings or tools that might make a difference, either with alternative settings or with probing what might be going on? There used to be some settings for config.txt that could disable CEC but those seem to be deprecated now.

3) Other ideas?
