Troubleshooting • How to power raspbery pi 3b via powerbank?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a project involving a Raspberry Pi 3B connected to a 1280x400 display via HDMI. The system runs a script that continuously displays content. I’m aiming to make this setup standalone, meaning it won’t be connected to a wall outlet.

I tried using a power bank to power both the Raspberry Pi and the display, but I keep encountering a low voltage warning. My goal is to have both the Raspberry Pi and the display run off the same power source for at least 4 hours.

Additionally, since the entire setup will be enclosed in a box behind the screen, I’d like to display the remaining power level of the power bank on the screen. This way, I can monitor how much battery is left without needing to open the enclosure.

My questions are:

What is the best way to power both the Raspberry Pi and the 1280x400 display from a single power source for at least 4 hours?

How can I display the remaining battery life of the power bank on the screen?

Thank you so much for your help!
