Beginners • PiCorePlayer not booting

Hi,

I'm setting up a couple of RPis for use as a multi room music server with PiCorePlayer and LMS as it seems to meet most of my needs. I seem to be having an issue installing PcP onto one of my Pis.

Its a Pi5 2gb. I have a couple of SD cards and have installed the PcP onto them both using Imager. For some reason both installs do not boot the Pi. The power comes on and it just freezes, There is a monitor connected and nothing displays and I am unable to switch the pi off with the power switch so I end up just pulling the power. Which I am sure is not helping.

I have a third SD card with PcP installed and that is connected to a Pi4 which works fine but as I have one working player I don't want to mess with this.

I have formatted both cards and installed again to no avail. I have formatted one of the cards, installed Raspberry OS onto it and that then booted up so it seems to be a problem with the Imager install. I downloaded the installer from the PcP website and did a custom install on imager and that did not work.

I'm at a loss as to what to do next? I don't think the SD card is faulty but I'm not sure how to create a completely clean install and get it to boot. There are two new SD cards on their way to me but I may miss the Xmas post now and I'd hoped to have both Pis running over the next few days.
